Missing the mat… are you ready to join me?

Hello Reader

Last week, I had the pleasure of leading a mini-movement break at the Research Council for Complementary Medicine conference. I have not actively taught yoga for quite some time now, although I have kept my own practice going. Teaching that session made me realise how much I miss teaching yoga!

I still get enquiries from others about my yoga classes and I always have former yoga students asking if I would pick teaching yoga back up. The truth is, when I stopped teaching yoga, I was at a very different time in my life and my kids were so young. I only had so many hours in a day and it was a tough choice to make at the time.

However, as I think more about it, I would not return to teaching yoga as a fitness class.

Over the last few years, I have spent time, energy, and effort to really integrate yoga, nutrition, and ayurveda. I would offer a holistic wellness practice that incorporates yoga and Ayurveda together. I would teach a class or a yogi practice that is truly rooted in ancient wisdom but with a modern integration.

My vision is to create a holistic, weekly wellness anchor. It will be an online space where we combine asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and practical Ayurvedic wisdom to really set the tone of the week to help you feel more balanced in your day-to-day life.

I see how busy and stretched many of us feel. My class will help to balance the doshas by grounding your mind, supporting your digestion and energy, and helping you navigate stress with ease.

Because it will be online, you will be able to move with me from the comfort of your own home, in structured 6-week terms that fit around busy life schedules.

Before I start putting together all the details, I would love to hear from you!

Hello Reader To wrap up our September series, we are focusing on the ultimate solution - how to teach your nervous system that it is safe. If you feel constantly on edge, react strongly to minor daily stressors, or struggle to drop into deep, restorative rest, your body is not broken. It is simply stuck in survival mode. This week, we are looking at how to actively step out of survival and build true resilience as we head into autumn. What’s Really Happening Your autonomic nervous system...

Hello Reader Good morning and happy Monday! Have you ever noticed that during periods of high stress, you either put on weight or lose weight, even if your diet and exercise routine has not changed. Or maybe when you are stressed, you find yourself reaching for "quick snacks" which are usually filled with sugar to keep you going or coffee to keep you awake? This week, we are looking at how chronic stress alters your blood sugar regulation, and how weight has more to do with "survival" rather...

Hello Reader Since having kids, September has generally been the beginning of my "new year" because let's face it, my life revolves around term time schedules. Now that I am lecturing, academic schedule is even more embedded into my routine. Academia has always had a place in my heart but with influencers and AI, there is more of a need for academia and research than ever before, especially when it comes to health and wellbeing. In the last few months, I have had more requests for support...
